Privacy Policy

BettaMind is a small app that helps hobbyists care for their betta fish. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to get it removed.
What we collect
Account data. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile image from Google. We store these in Supabase to identify your account.
Fish data. Everything you log inside the app — fish profiles, feeding events, water changes, mood check-ins, photos, notes, and chat messages with Finn — is stored in Supabase and linked to your account.
No analytics. We do not run third-party analytics SDKs.
Ads (Google AdMob). BettaMind shows a rewarded ad only when you choose to watch one — typically to unlock extra questions with Finn after you've used your daily allowance. We do not show banner or interstitial ads. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect a device advertising ID to personalize or measure ads. You can reset or limit this ID in your device settings. For details, see Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
How we use it
We use your data only to run the app: to show your fish, sync between devices, and power Finn's context-aware replies.
Finn (AI responses)
When you chat with Finn, we send a system prompt containing your selected fish's profile and recent log events, plus your message and the last few chat turns, to OpenAI to generate a reply. OpenAI does not use API content to train their models. We store the generated reply in your account's chat history.
We do not send Finn your email address or payment information.
Storage
All data is stored in Supabase (Postgres + Storage) in a managed region. Photos you upload are stored in a public bucket — the URLs are unguessable, and only the app surfaces them. Do not upload anything you do not want to share with someone who has the direct URL.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deleting your account permanently removes your fish, events, chat history, photos, and auth record from our database. This cannot be undone.

Children
BettaMind is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top will update. Significant changes will be announced in-app.
